Upcoming Region Events
Region V holds general business meetings three times a year – November, March, and again at the TJCSGA State Convention in April.
The host school for the 2020–2021 is San Jacinto College - Central Campus. The fall meeting this year will be held over zoom; the spring meeting location is undecided.
Please use this link to review information regarding the Fall Region Conference on November 6th staring at 8:30am - "Back to the Future"
This virtual conference has a mission to bring together SGA Region V student leaders to have a space where they can share their questions, thoughts and ideas for how they can help their junior colleges as well as their communities to prosper especially during this time in the pandemic. After welcoming everyone we will begin the conference by presenting the Community Organizations and Activism Panel where community leaders will come and speak in regards to their leadership roles and how they are continuing to help their surrounding communities during this time of crisis and will answer any concerning questions the student leaders may have.
Following the panel we will have 6 breakout sessions. In addition to our keynote speaker Judge Erica Hughes, these will include Pushing Community Outreach, Implementing Change with student voices, Leadership personality Assessment, Networking through Linkedin. Students will have the opportunity after lunch to network with other student leaders and we will end the Conference with a General Assembly to discuss Committees, State Awards, and Campus changes for COVID-19.
We look forward to meeting you!

TJCSGA State Convention
Every spring, SGAs from all 6 Regions congregate in once place for an intensive state weekend. This weekend encompasses excellent leadership trainings, state committees, SGA award opportunities, and general assembly meetings for the entire state. We encourage you to look at the state website to learn more about the TJCSGA State Convention dates, locations, and leadership opportunities. Please make sure you review the state dues and also look at the committees that students may participate in.
