Hi, my name is Katelynn Taveras and I serve as the SGA Region President this year. Houston City College - Southwest
Student Representative: Saheed Shofu
Hello, my name is Saheed Shofu. I’m a first-generation Nigerian student majoring in Government and Public Service at Houston City College. I’m deeply passionate about leadership through commitment, community service, mentorship, and collaboration. As the current President of the HCC Southwest Student Government Association and as the Vice President of the Southwest Honors College, I have been able to express my skills. Therefore, I’m truly honored to be one of student representative for the TJCSGA Region V. This is a huge opportunity for me to be a voice for students, to express my leadership skills, and be able to collaborate with other passionate leaders.

Student Representative: Daju Helaire
I am the President for the Student Government Association at San Jacinto College North Campus, and the student representative for Secretary of Region V. I am currently pursuing a degree in History, but I plan to double major in public policy with the intention of attending Law School. I am a passionate advocate for representation and achieving change through collaboration, open communication, and action.

Chloe is a dedicated student leader currently serving her second term as President of the Student Government Association at San Jacinto College – South Campus. Her leadership journey began in high school through Student Council and her involvement with HUT, a community-focused organization, and she continues to give back through her church by helping distribute food to the homeless. Known for her strong voice and natural leadership, Chloe is committed to representing and uplifting others by ensuring every voice is heard.

I'm passionate about bringing people together, creating opportunities, and helping others reach their goals.
